The seat has been represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom by Pat McFadden of the Labour Party since 2005. McFadden has served as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions under the government of Keir Starmer since 2025, previously serving as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster from 2024.
