UK Parliament constituency (1918–2005, 2024 onwards)
Rutherglen is a burgh constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. The seat first existed between 1918 and 2005 and was re-established under the final recommendations of the Boundary Commission for Scotland as part of the 2023 review of Westminster constituencies which came into effect for the 2024 general election. In the intervening period, the seat was largely replaced by Rutherglen and Hamilton West.
Rutherglen is represented in Parliament by Michael Shanks. Their current status is as a current member.
